Broadband Services

Broadband

Standard broadband uses copper to deliver traffic to the network. Our copper-based broadband services are available as ADSL (with speeds up to 8Mbps) or ADSL2+ (with speeds up to 24Mbps).

Key Features

  • Widely available across the UK
  • No service guarantees
  • Quick to install and low cost
  • Contended service

  • Broadband
    Bank of Hours

    Superfast Broadband (FTTC)

FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) uses the existing copper infrastructure from the premises to the streetside cabinet and then the new fibre infrastructure from the cabinet to the exchange. This means FTTC can deliver speeds of up to 80Mbps download and 20Mbps upload.

    Key Features

  • Widely available across the UK
  • No service guarantees
  • Quick to install and low cost
  • Contended Service
  • Increased speeds of up to 80Mbps
  • Ethernet Services

    EFTC

Similar to FTTC, Ethernet over Fibre To The Cabinet (EFTC) utilises the existing copper infrastructure between the premises and the cabinet and then uses fibre to the exchange. However, the significant difference is that it then delivers the traffic across the Ethernet network. This means that, unlike broadband based services, EFTC can deliver an uncontended service with guarantees. It provides symmetrical speeds of up to 20Mbps and benefits from shorter installation times when compared to fibre leased lines.

    Key Features

  • Symmetrical speeds of up to 20Mbps
  • Service guarantees including 100% SLA, 7 business hour return to service guarantee and choice of back-up options
  • Shorter installation times of as little as just 20 working days and lower costs
  • Uncontended service

  • Ethernet over Fibre To The Cabinet (EFTC)
    Ethernet First Mile (EFM)

    EFM

Ethernet First Mile (EFM) uses between 2 and 4 copper pairs to deliver symmetrical Ethernet speeds of between 2Mbps and 20Mbps to business within 4.8km of the exchange. The use of copper pairs also provide additional resilience.

    Key Features

  • Increased resilience through the use of multiple copper pairs
  • Symmetrical speeds of up to 20Mbps
  • Service guarantees including 100% SLA, 7 business hour return to service guarantee and choice of back-up options
  • Shorter installation times from as little as just 30 working days and lower costs
  • Uncontended service

  • Leased Lines (Fibre Ethernet)

A leased line is a private high performance, secure, permanently available and fast connection with a choice of speeds ranging from 10Mbps. By using a bearer with a committed data rate, the solution is also scalable, enabling you to accomodate future growth requirements.

    Key Features

  • Dedicated, high performance 1:1 uncontended connection
  • Symmetrical speeds of up to 10Gbps
  • Comprehensive service guarantees including 100% SLA and choice of back-up options
  • Scalable solution
  • Widely available across the UK from a choice of multiple carriers
